We hit the road early to do a modified version of the NC African-American Heritage Tour. I combined the African-American Cultural Trail of Greenville-Pitt County and the African-American Experience of Northeastern North Carolina Black Heritage Tour. We took I-295 South to I-95 South to North Carolina. The GPS took us off of the interstate and onto the backroads of northeastern NC. Our first destination would be Greenville, NC. NC State Route 125 is a good two lane road that took us to US Hwy 13. US Hwy 13 lead us to our 1st stop on the tour. Greenville has a rich history of African-American contributions that helped grow and develop the City of Greenville and Pitt County
